No itineraries currently listed

Launched in 2015, Norwegian Escape is the lead ship of the Breakaway Plus class. At 164,998 GT with capacity for 4,266 guests, it offers substantial capacity, making per-person prices easier to keep down. Outdoor features include a ropes course and waterslides, while the stern has a waterfront promenade extending over the sea. Haven suites share the class's standard design and include a private pool and restaurant. In summer 2026, it will operate 7-night Western Caribbean cruises from Miami, calling at Cozumel, Roatan, Harvest Caye, and Costa Maya. From autumn onward, it will focus on Eastern Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, and in winter 2027 it will move to Galveston. It suits travelers who want to experience a large ship while keeping costs down.

Boarding, atmosphere, and links

Boarding and logistics
  • Japan departures: No
  • Home ports: Port Canaveral (near Orlando, Florida; a major home port for Caribbean cruises), New York (during seasonal service, serves as a home port for Bermuda and Caribbean cruises)
  • Departure ports: Port Canaveral, New York
Atmosphere and guests
  • All ages
  • The first ship of the Breakaway-Plus class, equipped with experiential facilities such as water slides, a ropes course, The Waterfront (an outdoor promenade facing the sea), and Spice H2O, creating a lively, casual atmosphere on a large resort ship. Freestyle cruising offers a relaxed dress code. Go-karts and Galaxy VR are fitted from the successors Joy, Bliss, and Encore onward; Escape lacks them, which is the main difference from its sister ships.
  • Sails from Florida year-round, mostly on Caribbean & Bahamas itineraries, attracting a broad range of North American guests, including families, couples, and groups. Operations are mainly in English, and Japanese-language support is limited.
