Koningsdam entered service in 2016 as the first Pinnacle-class ship and the first to embody the class’s design concept. Its interiors draw on musical-instrument forms, while venues such as World Stage and Music Walk reinforce its strong identity as a ship centered on music. Summer operations focus on Alaska from Vancouver, and winter operations center on the Mexican Riviera from San Diego. Many itineraries are easy-to-follow cruises of about seven nights, making it an approachable choice for first-time Holland America Line travelers.

Atmosphere and guests
All ages
An adult-oriented atmosphere centered on live music, combining calmness with an upscale feel. Casual yet refined, it appeals to guests who enjoy live performances and dancing.
Mainly attracts veteran cruisers aged 50 and over, primarily from North America. Demand is also high for long voyages such as world cruises and transatlantic crossings.
The 3 ships of the Pinnacle Class have been equipped with shore power connection facilities since construction, so they can shut down their engines while in port to reduce emissions and noise. Scrubbers (exhaust gas desulfurization systems) are fitted on all 11 ships. It is also equipped with a biodigester that breaks down food waste.
