It is an adults-only ship for ages 18 and over, with no casino, water slides or kids club, built around Nordic minimalist interiors and a lecture program on the history and culture of the ports of call. A calm atmosphere that values quiet and intellectual experiences.
- Primarily English-speaking couples and friends in their 50s and older from the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. Many are highly interested in culture and history, and the onboard atmosphere remains calm throughout. The dress code is elegant casual, with no formal night. Permanent Japanese-language support could not be confirmed.

Equipped with MAN B&W diesel engines (about 23.5 MW). It was designed on the premise that technology from subsequent ships using liquid hydrogen and fuel cells, Viking Libra and Viking Astrea, could be retrofitted in the future, while Viking Mira itself currently operates on conventional fuel.
