## Cabins by category

Checked: 2026-07-03

| Cabins | Description | Cabin count / recommended decks | Size | Capacity / beds | Features | Links |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Virtual Balcony Interior | Interior cabins equipped with a Virtual Balcony: an approximately 80-inch wall screen showing real-time exterior views. First introduced on Quantum Class, it provides natural light and a sense of openness inside. ADA-accessible cabins are also included. | 366 cabins | 15.3–17.2 m² (165–185 ft²) (Estimated) | 2-4 people / Queen bed (convertible to twins). | Balcony: No, Window: No, Concierge: No, Connecting: Unknown, Solo: No, Accessible: Yes | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |
| Studio Interior / Studio Balcony | Solo cabins designed for one guest, among the smallest onboard. Two types are available: Studio Interior with a virtual balcony (about 100 sq ft) and Studio Balcony with a real balcony (about 120 sq ft), for 28 cabins total. A key feature is that one guest can use them without an additional solo surcharge. | 28 cabins | 9.3–11.1 m² (100–119 ft²) (Estimated) | 1 person / Single/double bed (designed for single occupancy only) | Balcony: No, Window: No, Concierge: No, Connecting: No, Solo: Yes, Accessible: No | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |
| Oceanview Stateroom | A category with fixed windows, some of which have an obstructed view from lifeboats or other structures. It has no balcony, but admits more actual exterior light than a Virtual Balcony. One of the ship's smallest categories, with 142 rooms. | 142 cabins | 16.7–27.9 m² (180–300 ft²) (Estimated) | 2-4 people / Queen bed (convertible to twins). | Balcony: No, Window: Yes, Concierge: No, Connecting: Unknown, Solo: No, Accessible: Yes | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |
| Balcony Stateroom | The ship's largest category, with 1,487 rooms, approximately 70% of all guest rooms. Balcony areas are approximately 5-11 sq m, varying by room type. It is noted for its wide range of connecting cabins for families, an improvement over Oasis Class and similar ships. | 1487 cabins | 16.7–18.6 m² (180–200 ft²) (Estimated) | 2-4 people / Queen bed (convertible to twins). | Balcony: Yes, Window: Yes, Concierge: No, Connecting: Yes, Solo: No, Accessible: Yes | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |
| Junior Suite (Spa / Silver / Golden / Large-Balcony) | All cabin types share a floor area of about 280 sq ft, but they are divided into 4 subcategories by balcony size, position, and proximity to the spa: Spa, Large-Balcony, Silver, and Golden (133 cabins in total, including only 5 Golden cabins, the highest-level junior suites). This is the core of what Spectrum of the Seas marketed as Royal Caribbean's first suite-only complex area, with a dedicated key card and access to a private elevator, restaurant, and bar lounge. However, the name is not consistent across sources (at one point it was standardized as "Sky"), so the official name on cruises in service should be confirmed. | 133 cabins / Decks 13, 15, and 16 (suite-only area) | 26 m² (280 ft²) (Estimated) | 2-4 people / Queen bed (convertible to twin) + sofa bed. | Balcony: Yes, Window: Yes, Concierge: Yes, Connecting: No, Solo: No, Accessible: Yes | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |
| Grand Suite / Owner's Suite / Grand Loft Suite / Ultimate Family Suite | The top category includes 1-bedroom Grand Suites, approximately 350 sq ft and 16 rooms; 2-level Grand Loft Suites, approximately 700 sq ft and 4 rooms; and the ship's largest 2-level Ultimate Family Suite, approximately 2,350 sq ft plus an approximately 460 sq ft wraparound terrace, one room only, with a private slide and private theater. The number of Owner's Suites, approximately 540 sq ft, varies by source and cannot be confirmed. The accurate total room count also differs among sources and requires confirmation. | Decks 13, 15, and 16 (suite-only area adjacent to "The Balcony" and "The Boutique") | 32.5–218.3 m² (350–2,350 ft²) (Estimated) | 4-11 guests (Ultimate Family Suite accommodates up to 11) / King bed (convertible to twins). Higher-class suites have multiple bedrooms and a living room. | Balcony: Yes, Window: Yes, Concierge: Yes, Connecting: No, Solo: No, Accessible: No | [Check on the official cabin page](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/spectrum-of-the-seas/rooms) (Unverified) / Checked: 2026-07-03 |

## Boarding, atmosphere, and links

Checked: 2026-07-03

### Boarding and logistics

- Japan departures: No
- Home ports: Shanghai (China, a key home port), Hong Kong (China, strengthened as a dual home port from 2024)
- Departure ports: Shanghai, Hong Kong

### Atmosphere and guests

- All ages
- The first ship in Royal Caribbean's Quantum Ultra class, this large Asian megaship was designed for Chinese-speaking markets. Alongside signature RCI attractions such as North Star, RipCord, SkyPad, and SeaPlex, it offers ship-specific facilities and services including Sichuan Red (Sichuan cuisine) and combined areas for Golden and Silver Suite guests. Its casual style is theatrically bold, serving families as well as affluent casino and food enthusiasts.
- Based at the dual home ports of Shanghai and Hong Kong, it mainly carries passengers from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Onboard announcements, signage, and menus primarily support Mandarin Chinese and English; permanent Japanese signage or staff could not be confirmed. Japan, including Okinawa, is visited as a port of call, but this is not a Japan-based or Japanese-language cruise.
