Explora VI is the fleet's latest environmentally focused ship. In addition to LNG (liquefied natural gas) dual-fuel propulsion, it carries a 6 MW hydrogen fuel cell. While berthed, this fuel cell can supply the hotel load (cabin air conditioning, lighting, and other systems), allowing the diesel main engines to be stopped for zero-emission operation. Its potential CO2 reduction is about 25% compared with conventional fuel. The design also allows future conversion to bio-LNG, synthetic LNG, methanol, or liquid hydrogen. It is the fleet's most advanced implementation toward the 2050 net-zero target.
